The Semi-Final Show

I stick with what I said last week about Tana and Kendra. I believe Kendra has the edge.

Keep your comments and predictions coming!

- Your Comments and Predictions:

"Did anyone else think these tasks were very different in their scope of what needed to be done?  Tana had multiple large egos, athletic venues and events along with what appeared to be a longer length event.  Plus, she had to get everything completed sooner than Kendra's evening event.  Tana's event also had way more value placed on it with the bid for the Olympics at stake.

Was there more to the decision-making on Donald Trump's part to give this to her?  Either thinking she would at least get a successful completion in such a short time span which would be better than trusting Kendra to an event that could lose New York's bid.  Or, did he do this to favor a Kendra outcome in giving her what appeared the easier of the two tasks?  Can anyone really see Kendra doing better at the Olympic task?

Tana's was the pamphlet fiasco - what  would Kendra's have been - several???  Unfortunately, the exact same task can't be assigned.  At least the other two seasons seemed more evenly matched.  I still favor Tana, although she spoke to Carolyn like a peer about her teammates.  Not a smooth move unless a calculated effort to explain away possible poor outcomes, but didn't they then sound like the "3 Stooges" when they phoned her?!?!  Yes, a boss is supposed to be able to be a boss to their employees - but I wouldn't have selected any of them to work for me in the first place."

"Kendra is peaking at the perfect time, isn't she?  It's very tempting to switch
sides and take her over Tana after their performances this week.

What really impressed me about Kendra is that she is now doing things she failed
to do in previous, even recent, weeks.  She managed to convey her vision to the
client and get them excited about it.  She motivated her team and got them to
want to work for her.  Now add her always-present ability to focus on the big
picture, making the sponsors happy.  Result:  an extremely successful event,
very happy sponsors, and even a contingency job offer if she wants it.  Great
job.

Tana, on the other hand, seemed to fall apart.  She left the Governor of New
York standing around aimlessly because she wasn't ready with an agenda for him.
She spent much of the event putting out fires personally instead of using her
team to do it, with the result that several problems never got properly solved.
And the only thing more amazingly stupid to me than Kristin's including those
clearly not-for-public-consumption comments in the brochure copy is Tana's
egregious failure to at least read that copy before sending it to the printer.

If I'm Trump, I have to look very hard at Kendra.  She came up huge this week
and pretty much quashed every reservation I had about her except one:  can this
26-year-old command the respect of VPs 15 or 20 years older than she is?  If
she's going to run one of Trump's companies that's a very pertinent question,
and maybe the one point left where Tana has an advantage."
