The Remodel a Motel on the Jersey Shore Show  (Brian is fired!)

The teams are given a budget of only $20,000 and 48 hours to remodel a New Jersey motel and be graded by the guests for hospitality and overall stay.

Brian could not accept the fact that he was wrong about replacing the toilets!  And he ended up fired. Boy, was there alot to keep us watching, rolling our eyes and actually laughing this week.

Drop me a note and let me know what YOU thought of the first week. We'll publish signed responses on our site before this week's show.

"Verna walked off in a daze, because she was tired. Guess she'd never worked this hard in her life. At least she admitted when she was wrong and needed to learn. She sat and painted with a roller with her purse around her shoulder for goodness sake. What's up with that?

Then we have Kristen having a shouting match with Brian in front of guests. Angie finally loses it at Kristen and we can feel her relief when Kristen bails from the van and Angie says, "At least now it's quiet!" I laughed so hard.

Brilliant stroke of manipulation when Magna throws a pool party. Get the guests out of the smelly bad rooms and get them drinking and laughing.

Some of the team members worked well together (Bren seemed helpful and cohesive, and Erin seemed to be committed to winning for her team). But alot of the others just couldn't seem to step out of themselves and realize what needed to be done to win.

Brian, well, Trump said it didn't he? Brian was a disaster. He deserved to be fired. So did Verna, Kristen, John for being so un-team-like.

This is great entertainment, though! I haven't laughed that hard at a tv show in ages! Fun."

"This week's episode to renovate a hotel in only a few days was quite daunting. I couldn't believe that Brian bought 14 new toilets! I noticed 2 very effective reframes. First, I attribute Magna's ability to reframe a "hotel stay" into a "frat party" was probably their saving grace. Secondly, Everyone was dumping on Verna, deservedly. I was right there with them. But she came back. When Mr. Trump called her a comeback, that was a useful reframe for me.

Finally, I came up with a "formula" that I would use to win as project manager on ALL future tasks: 1) Take time to assess the problem/challenge 2) Get clear on the main "Purpose"/objective 3) Create a written "strategy", with budget 4) Design a tactical plan that includes structure, process, and procedures 5) Assess the skill of your team, and match the people to the procedures 6) Build in measurements, as well as rewards. This is huge. Acknowledgment and rewards, even if only psychic, build loyalty. A lack of rewards can bring dissent. There you go. That's my 2 cents."

"The Apprentice, who picked these contestants? The only one that has stood out is the PM in episode 1, who threw in the trip to Vegas, it was interesting however in episode 2, they did not have the foresight to better attend to their customers needs. Watch out for Danny, he is coming on, I thought he was a flake at first, but he is showing a knack for quick adaptation, and Trump likes him.

The other candidates are rather weak, and few seem to be able to unify their teams to really fight for victory. Everyone wants to be a 2 man show versus really involving the group in the decision making and planning process. Therefore they are getting minimal buying from the group."
