"See? I told you I'm lousy at
predictions.
Kristin's total lack of creativity and
"my way or the wrong way"
attitude doomed her from the start as a
PM. If people don't feel trusted, or
even respected, they will not perform at
their best. Mind you, she didn't
have much to work with. John's idea
was only marginally better than Magna's
vegetable porn concept in my opinion.
I think even the race
"joke" as he outlined it
would have failed to impress Donnie
Deutsch.
Does anyone know the basis for the
animosity between Kristin and Audrey?
I'm thinking it goes back to Week 2 when
Audrey told her and Brian to quit
bickering in front of the guests, but that
doesn't seem enough to justify the amount
of anger I saw with those two.
The best display of influence this week
had to be Bren's handling of the irate
actress. He was great. He
validated her feelings instead of arguing
about them, he put himself at her
disposal, and ultimately appealed to her
own pride ("Can you finish this"
as opposed to "You need to
finish this"). A masterful job
of smoothing out a very ugly situation.
Did you see him mirroring her body
language? He must be a very good DA
with skills like that.
It's hard for me to pinpoint anything else
that either side did right. As
Donnie himself said, both commercials
stunk. Even John's music track,
which had a nice driving beat to it,
sounded like a half-dozen other
commercials I've heard. Where was
everyone when Donnie said "Blow me
away, think outside the box?"
Erin's project management was almost as
bad as Kristin's. Her only real
success was in managing the infighting,
which impressed Trump this week but he'll
be expecting more from now on. If I
were in Trump's seat I would have fired
Erin *and* Kristin, but I can't fault him
for choosing just one."
